This website supports research efforts to better understand Stephen Crane's novel The Red Badge of Courage. Special acknowlegement goes to Fredson Bowers whose apparatus for noting and assigning the sequencing of alterations in Crane's manuscript has provided a starting point for continuing scholarship. This website is being jointly developed by Steven Olsen-Smith at Boise State University and William Newmiller at the United States Air Force Academy.
